“Life With Three Under Three”

Yes, it’s hard work. But Amy thinks it’s worth it.

——

And she posted a comment made by Martin Luther:

“What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow.”

I am struck by the last phrase. God isn’t pleased with my good homemaking and mothering because He wants good wives and mothers; He’s pleased because it’s what He’s asked me to do, and I’m obeying in faith each moment I put forth my best effort.

I am reminded — again, for the millionth time — that God measures the worth of a life’s work so differently than I. He loves obedience and whole hearts. That’s all.

Thanks for the comment. Yes it is fun to have a 17 month old. She is learning the sound of “G” “g” (the sound guh). She can see a “G” and tell you what it says. The other day Keith said something about Google and Hayla goes, “Google,” very pronounced. So we got the idea to start her life learning (home teaching) now. Hayla is like Keith and wants to learn and I love to teach her. I don’t always have faith that I will be able to teach everything but I am learning that you don’t have to be the smartest person to home school, and by far I am not. I am reading a home schooling book to help me with the issues and to help me learn proper responses when my family wonders about issues like socialization. To them Keith is weird so he is not an adequate example to them of good home schooling. The funny part is that he is VERY smart and wants to learn all the time which is a great example of good home schooling, but to them that aspect is very last. My family would rather us be social than smart, which is sad. Now your whole family is a great example! I am starting to realize that Potsdam is the best place for us to be to raise our kids learning at home. I have a lot more support there. Well I miss you a lot. Keep up the fun comments. I have been having a bit of trouble with my sister. We are not close anymore because we believe different things, not so much religion but other things.

    Miss You,
    AnDi

So- do you know how I can get songs from a CD I have onto my computer and then onto my xanga? If not- who else can I ask? All of my close friends are computer illiterate like me. HAH!
I actually planned to ask Ryan the computer guy- but I just read that he’s not there. Good for you accomplishing things when he’s gone. You’re so spunky.
Anyway- if you don’t know- no worries. I’ll just keep clicking around some more. (The last time I navigated around the Helps I accidently downloaded an AOL trial run!)
