The last time I moved was from Canton to Madrid. 20+ years ago.

Needless to say, I didn’t help much with the packing. So for the last few weeks, emails have been going back and forth to her, a moving expert. “How do I pack plates? Glasses? Vacuum cleaners? And everything else?”

One thing I do know how to pack, however. Quite expertly, actually. Books. I can pack books, thanks to him and his extensive library.

I was thinking about moving the other day and how daunting that was for me; and that I need to tell you that once it got started it really wasn’t half as bad as I’d thought it would be. I keep forgetting to tell you, so I’ll write here while I’m thinking about it!

Wondering where to begin is definitely the hardest part, in my opinion! When it came down to it, I didn’t even start packing for our move up here until after Bronwyn’s 1st birthday party (I began packing the Mon after her birthday), and then Mom & Dad came with the trailer about 10 days later. The most stressful part was thinking about it beforehand, for sure…

I feel that I should make a disclaimer that all my “expertise” comes from watching how professional movers pack for me, and unloading it at the opposite end. In the six moves we have made I have only packed twice. Both were local moves, from our first apartment to our first house and from Pine Street to CR 21 in Canton. My four state-to-state moves have been corporate moves and I haven’t packed a thing; I have been very spoiled.

So you guys are moving? California? Why there? I have missed a lot I guess and that means all the news on you moving. I even went back to find where it all started and I can’t find it, so help! Fill me in!
