cold and clear

I know. It’s February. It’s cold. Every inch of snow that has fallen since December is still out there, piling up, not thinking for a second of melting.

But.

You know what cold usually means, here in the North Country? Sunshine. Bright blue skies. Sparkling snow falling like diamonds from the sky. And speaking of diamonds, how about those stars, brighter and clearer than any you see all summer?

Even in February, even when the high is 9*, it’s just beautiful.

What 9* looks like up North:

How well I remember those clear, cold, North Country winter days! Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your point of view, we’ve been having days like it here in Kansas City, Missouri this winter. I’m not used to it anymore. Doh!
