wow.
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007I just realized that it’s been 10 whole years since I first went overseas.
What I can’t decide is whether those 10 years feel long or short.
Either way, being sixteen feels like it was a lifetime ago.

:: He’s moving quickly these days, although he has yet to do anything more than scoot along on his belly. It’s so much fun to watch him dart for something, change his mind, spin around on his belly — only to change his mind again and head back in the original direction. And he jabbers […]
Thank you.
From the Green Mountain Boys, to the men serving with our red-headed hero: thank you, all of you.
Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
:: I grabbed our designated outdoor blanket, threw some toys in a bag, and hoisted my sunscreen-covered baby onto my hip. Our destination: the back yard. For almost an hour we sat together; I read, he played. At one point I had to pinch myself. There I sat in the warmth of the summer sun, […]
It’s a perfect day. The morning dawned, fresh and clear, and cool enough for a summer cardigan. By afternoon, the sun was hot on my face as I walked around the block.
It’s a sad sort of day, too. Sad because Ryan flew away, far away, and this time it’s for keeps. He’ll [prayerfully] find […]
So, whose blog is this, anyway? It's mine, and here are few tidbits about me: My name is Danica. Like the race car driver, whose name I know, but whose career I know nothing about. A Nascar fan I am not. Things like reading, playing piano, gardening, cooking, sewing, writing, and keeping my bathroom bleached are more up my alley. (Oh, and I'm 34 weeks pregnant---only 41 days until my due date on October 20, 2008!)My maiden name is Sinclair (not Patrick), and I come from good stock. (So says my husband, anyway!) I'm the oldest of 9 kids--and my parents are neither insane, uninformed, or Catholic. They're actually the best parents you could ask for. Seriously. (And, consequently, I think pretty highly of my siblings, too, whose blogs you can access from the links below.) I've joined a new clan, though, and my husband and I have been "leaving-and-cleaving" for 2 years and counting. We have a son who you'll read much (too much?) about. Oh. And there are pictures of him, too--hundreds of them--should you care to click on over to my flickr account. I'm a stay at home mom who is redefining that title--I literally stay at home as much as I possibly can. I love to be home! Home, by the way, is in Northern California, although my roots are in a lil' ol' town in Northern New York. Lastly, I take all blame for any ridiculous, outlandish, illogical posts. Anything worth commenting on or linking to is due to my husband's encouragement. In the spirit of the Little engine That Could, "He thinks I can, He thinks I can, He thinks I can,...", and sometimes, that's all a wife needs.
What? You didn't hear these numbers on the evening news? Huh. Fancy that.
A read recommended by Brietta. Informative, helpful, and delves a bit into how our immune systems work, which is a question I'm always coming back to. Forget autism for a moment; how did God design our bodies to work, and do current vaccinations actually take that design into consideration?
God intends for us to be fully invested -- and in Him, fulfilled -- in every season of our lives. This is a great post touching on that idea. (And if you like this post, then read The Hidden Art of Homemaking. For sure.)
Well, now, there's a surprise. [ht: Carole]
